Hello Snagit Fans,
If you are a real Snagit Fan am sure you already own the new Superstamps add-on. If you don’t own it yet its not too late to enjoy the full potential of Snagit you can get a copy of the new Superstamps here.
Already own Superstamps 197 collection but not sure how to use it with your Snagit application?
Follow the simple step by step instructions below:
Step 1
Download and Install your Snagit.
Step 2
Download the Superstamps.
Superstamps does not need installation, you can just lift it into the stamp folder. As you have no outside directory for your stamps you could place it in the Snagit 9 folder located:
C:\Program Files\TechSmith\SnagIt 9\Stamps
You do this by just clicking on the folder and dragging it into the folder above.
Step 3
Open your Snagit Editor and from your “Draw Tab” click on the stamp icon to view stamp samples. Click the down arrow, to view existing stamps from the style box, . This will show all available images and categories.
*This box automatically pops up after clicking the down arrow*
Step 4:
Click on “Organize Stamps” a box will pop up providing you additional options.
*To add the Superstamps folder simply click on the “Stamp folder” button to start browsing your unzipped folder of superstamps on your computer.*
Step 5:
Select the unzipped folder of Superstamps from your computer by double clicking it. After the folder has been successfully added click close to finish.
Voila! It’s done.
Get your Free Superstamps mini pack here and follow the same steps when adding it to your collection. If you like it, go on and get the full version with 197 new professional superstamps none of which are included in the minipack!
Enjoy Stamping 😉
Peter – Your Snagit Guide
The super stamps are great!
You have done a fine job.
Great collection AND it would be helpful if the documentation included how to use the stamps in other programs such as PowerPoint.
What are the installation instructions for SuperStamps for a Mac? The file path in the instructions is not displayed in that way on the Mac version.
Hello Sara,
Good questions!
We will do a special blog post on this topic, but in the meantime here are instructions on how to add Stamps in Snagit for Mac.
Exit Snagit.
1) Open Finder
2) Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/TechSmith/Snagit/Stamps/Custom
3) Move all of your custom stamps folders into the “Custom” folder in Finder.
4) Re-open Snagit
This should display all of your folders and their respective stamps in a more organized fashion.
Keep on snagging 😉
Peter
I tried your instructions for mac super stamps…it did not work…I drill down the path that you mention, but there were no Stamps and no Custom folders…I created them and then copied the folders 01 – 093 into the custom folder, it still does not work…don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Hello Fred,
There is an alternative route to install the stamps. I will come with a tutorial soon for that. In the meantime, try these steps:
1. Go to Finder, Go to Applications
2. Select Snagit, hold the control key down and click select, and select Show Package Contents.
3.Copy/Move the Stamp folders into the Stamps folder.
4. Quit Snagit/ Restart application.
5. Check Stamps
I hope that helps.
I tired the alternate route to install SuperStamps on a MAC as well, but it did not work. When you “Show Package Contents” the only folder that displays is the “Contents” folder and there is no stamps folder in there as well. I am currently running Mavericks. When I tried to drill down in the instructions for installing on MAC OS, the path described does not exist and when trying this alternative method, there is no stamps folder. I created a stamps folder and moved all of the files into that, but that did not do the trick either. IS there another alternative method to access the stamps on a mac?
Hello Jake,
Here is an updated way to install it on Mac.
1. Download the SuperStamps pack
2. Open the download location in Finder.app
3. Select the file
4. Press enter to begin renaming the file
5. Change the extension from .zip to .snagitstamps
6. Press enter to complete the rename
7. Select “use .snagitstamps” on the dialog that displays
8. Double-click the snagitstamps file
I hope that helps.
Sir,
I am having trouble installing the SuperStampsv4 pack for Mac. None of the above options work on my mavericks macbook pro. When I download the file it shows up in Finder as a folder named “SuperStampsv3TS_a”. I can click on it as you instruct above and rename it but the folder shows no extension and it doesn’t appear to be zipped either.
Please advise on how to import the entire folder?
Thx
Mike
Sir,
Nevermind…I opened the PDF that came with the downloaded folder of stamps and it instructed me to right click on the Snagit folder and show properties…I did that and found the stamps folder and then copied the entire downloaded folder of superstamps into it then started snag it again and the folder was there with all the subfolders. Thx
Mike – which Snagit folder? The one under Techsmith? Or the one under documents? How do you show properties? Is it “get info?” I cannot find the stamps folder and I am running Mac OSX 10.9.4. Please advise!
Finally! I found a helpful thread!
I have downloaded SuperStamps and run on a Macbook Pro (10.9.4) as well.
I can find none of the paths/folders ever mentioned in the instructions. And after SnagIt is FINALLY setup, I have no clue how to use the stamps in other applications. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
Any help here is greatly appreciated. I am so glad to know that I am not alone in this world. 🙂
Thanks.
Hi Peter, together with your download you should have received instructions. I now believe that the SuperStamps is already coming with an installer, so all you have to do is to unzip the collection, then double-click the SuperStamps for Mac installer file included inside the zip and it will install into your Snagit Editor stamp collection automatically.
How do I move my SuperStamps folder to Another disk (instead of C) on my PC? I have tried to move the folder to another disk and created a shortcut in C:\user\userid\doc\Snagit Stamps but the shortcut do not show up in SnagIt as a choice when I look at my stamps.
Hej Bengt,
You can move the Snagit Stamps, but you then have to update the editor to the new location. Just copy them from the Snagit Stamps folder to their new location and then go into the Stamps drop-down menu in the Snagit Editor. A the bottom of this drop-down you find a setting “Organize Stamps..”. Open that and at the bottom of that menu you have a button called “Stamp Folder”. There you can set your custom stamp folder address.
Thank you Peter, worked perfect.
Open a finder window… click on your name on the left sidebar… press “command + J” or Go To: View > Options THEN click “Show Library Folder” THEN…
Open… Library>Application Support>TechSmith>SnagIt>Stamps>Custom… and PASTE all your stamps folders here. Now, I tested this from a new install to moving stamps from PC to Mac… it works perfect. IGNORE all the yip yap about “Show Package Contents”… not needed!
