A new output for Snagit was just released, for Microsoft OneNote 2007.
With one click you can send your Snagit scren captures over to your OneNote application.
If you are a OneNote user this is a must have application. callkathy has pointed out several excellent uses for this Output function. For example:
– You can now output long and wide pages to OneNote
– You can now annotate your captures and send them to OneNote
You can download the Snagit output from Techsmith here.
You find information about Microsoft OneNote 2007 here.
Until next time 😉
Peter, Your Snagit Guide
My tech indicates “Evernote” is a better program for these purposes than “onenote”. Does Snagit work with Evernote?
Hello Matt,
Thank you for your comment.
Snagit has a direct output to onenote. This means you can output the images directly to the application with the click of a button.
I have not used evernote myself so I don’t know if it can handle images.
But if it can handle images of course you can use Snagit. Just snag the image and then choose “copy” and paste it into evernote.
If you try it out and have time, just put a note here telling me how it went.
All the best,
Peter
evernote.com tells it much better than I evercould.
Here’s what my tech had to say:
Evernote
“For the last few months I’ve been using a program called Evernote. If you use Post-it Notes on your monitor, or do web research or sometimes print out emails to retain, then Evernote is probably for you. Essentially, it is a long list of notes. You can quickly bring up Evernote and take a note. If you are at a website you can click the integrated addon for either Firefox or Internet Explorer to add the web page or part of the web page to your notes. Inside Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird, you can do the same thing with any email.
Notes are kept in date order, but can be categorized any way you like, or in multiple ways. It also does an instant search. All Webpages point back to the original page. This allows me to grab all sorts of information and organize it later. It gives me both the page information and the link back to the original. Links within the captured page remain active. It’s clipper works better than anything else I’ve seen for capturing web pages. I capture emails which need to be acted upon and then every couple of days I go through all my uncategorized notes and either act on them then delete, or categorize them for later retrieval.
I recommend getting the new beta version rather than the older 1.5 version. The free version is excellent in itself, the paid version allows you to recognize handwritten text or text inside images and synchronize between computers.”
It sounds interesting and I’ll definitely take a look at it.
Best,
Peter
I feel stupid. I have snagit 9x and have downloaded the OneNote accessory. It downloads into WinZip. However, there is no installer. How do I install the OneNote accessory?
Thanks!
How to install the onenote addon ?
Thanks in advance
Better question : how to install the onenote addon if one has portable apps (same Snagit same Onenote)?
